Sixth Episode

It is Halloween in this particular episode and the gangs decides to dress up for Halloween, with each one having a separate story of their own. Lilly and Marshal end up wearing Captain Jack Sparrow and Parrot theme in order to win a context, Lilly as the Parrot and Marshal as Jack. Ted on the other hands wants to go to a roof frat boy party where he has been waiting for a girl who he met three years ago on that same party. He hopes to find her and hopefully get to know her; he nicknames her as “the slutty Pumpkin”. Barney attempts to convince Ted on coming with him to a Victoria Secret Model Yacht party, which Ted refuses to go. The whole night Ted is at this party but he does not meet his long lost “slutty Pumpkin” instead he ends up having a good after party conversation with Robin who also had a bad Halloween experience. Barney disappears to another party and Lilly and Marshall end up winning the context.
What I saw within this episode was the act of determination. All characters attempted to find love, find excitement, and win a contest, but only one was able to feel the accomplishment. Determination is not always guaranteed for sure, life is full of risks, and it is ok to take them. Without taking risks then new experiences are not able to be experienced and new pathways unable to form. God has given us freewill in order for us to make our own choices. It is not wrong to have this free will but letting him directing it is determination we give unto the Lord. We set ourselves apart from others and declare the determination we have for the glory to be done to His Kingdom. God is truly good and His paths are always greater than our own, greater that what we can ever image, even when we think we do His ways are better. Instead of asking the question of why things not coming the right way just stopping and declaring trust and faith in God when taking either path.

Episode Number 5

Growing up or not to grow up? That is the major question on this episode for Lily and Marshal.
What to do, what to do? What to do on a Saturday night, Barney said. Ted, Barney, Lily, and Marshal decide to go to a new club that had just opened up, invited by their friend Robin. Robin has gain acquaintances with some famous people and has gained VIP access to the club Saturday night. Lily and Marshal end up skipping the Club night because of former arrangements. Lily and Marshal have been told that they are a bit old for the way they tend to behave, thus in order to put away this truth, Lily and Marshal put up a wine and cheese gathering at their house; hoping to look older and mature in the eyes of their weird friends.
Barney, Ted, and Robin go to the club and gain exclusive access to the club, however Robin does not receive the VIP access she had desired. The club turns out to be loud and obnoxious. Ted discovers he no longer desires to keep staying at the club so he begins to leave, while Barney decides to stay longer grinding on a random girl, soon to find out the girl is actually his cousin. Ted meets a nice girl working in the coat hanging closet and begins having causal conversations with her.
Marshal soon becomes devastated by the boringness of his guests that he secretly escapes through his bathroom window heading towards the club his “immature” friends are located. After a while, Lily takes notice of Marshal leave that she also decides to secretly follow him. When Lily arrives at the club she discovers Marshal dancing on the floor extremely happy and energetic, unlike the Marshal who was being conservative during the wine and cheese tasting. Lily passionately kisses Marshal and discovers they are who they are.
In reality, we are who we are. We are all different people. There are a wide variety of races, cultures, languages, and dialects. We are not able to change who we are by changing the way we act externally. We all obtain different giftings and different skills and because of those skills we are set apart. If everyone was the same then that wouldn’t really make our Creator much of a creator. We serve a God who creates beautiful and unique things. Like Luke said in Acts 11:9 and Acts 10:15, do not call anything impure that God has made clean. No one is higher or lower than anybody else, at the end of the day we are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28)
And above all, having a child like faith J

The Fourth Episode :)

The episode begins with the grown up father Ted. He is telling his children about the time when he met their mother, however it never results to be their actual mother but instead another girlfriend of his father’s past relationships. The episode begins with Ted coming into the usual bar to meet his friends with an unusual collar shirt. Barney, Robin, Marshall, and Lily all notice it and approve of Ted’s dress choice. Ted then expresses the shirts history which signifies Ted changing his style and changing his perspective. With this realization in mind Ted decides to call one of his old girlfriends of three years ago named Natalie, thinking he might have a different perspective with Natalie three years later. However soon realizes he had broken up with Natalie over the phone and on her birthday three years ago, so he decides to call her up and make up for it.
After Ted apologizes and begs for Natalie’s forgiveness, he asks her out on a date, and they begin dating again. Robin is given the chance to broadcast a News channel on a channel most people do not watch. Barney proposes a proposition to Robin tell her to say inappropriate things during her live interviews for money. In the first proposition, Robin acted out of a natural response, but was still able to get Barney’s money. The next few times Robin decided to do whatever Barney had proposed to her during the show. However there came an episode where Barney gathered everyone in the Bar to watch the Robin’s interview, and Robin accidentally fell on horse crap on live TV. This then served Robin as a lesson to do her job to the best of her ability and to enjoy the great privilege and honor she obtains as a News Host.
Something I learned from this lesson is you don’t really know what you have until you lose it. We might find ourselves in places where we don’t feel comfortable or where we don’t feel appreciated, but in God’s eyes nothing goes in vain.
Back to Ted, after a few weeks dating Natalie, he decides that she was not the one and wanted to break up with her. What Ted did not know was Natalie’s birthday was coming soon, how soon? The day he wanted to break up with her. So Ted took Natalie out to dinner and had the intentions of breaking up with her that night. However, what he didn’t know is that Natalie had been taking Krav Maga, which is fighting technics from guerrilla warfare, so after breaking to bad news to Natalie, Ted received a dramatic beating.
So it turned out Natalie was not the one, and just because a person has different changes in styles and in perspectives does not mean the past should be relived again. New opportunities and new situations arise and making the most out of every situation is wise.

Episode 3 of How I met Your Momma

Alright, back on track, I watched the third episode of How I met your mother. I have really grown to like this show, it always brightens up my day. In this episode, Barney is looking for a fun adventure on how to pick up girls (as always). He convinces Ted to come with him on an adventure that he keeps on describing as “LEGENDARY”! After much convincing Ted agrees, but Marshall and Lily do not. Lily returns to the bar with her friend Robin to have a girl’s night out. Lily becomes jealous of all the attention Robin is getting from all the bachelors within the bar, but she does not get any attention due to the fact she has an engagement ring.
Back to Ted and Barney, they go to the airport attempting to pick up girls instead of picking up a girl. They meet up two girls and end up flying to Philly in order to get to know them. Unfortunately while on the plane, Ted and Barney discover the two girls have boyfriends, and to top things up, Ted and Barney get arrested by the airport security. While arrested, Ted calls Marshall to get some information regarding the law since Marshall is studying to be a lawyer. Barney convinces Marshall to come to Philly to their rescue, however they get released before he can arrive.
Meanwhile, Lily continues to get jealous so she calls Marshall and up explains the situation, Marshall as a good fiancés, encourages her to take off the ring and have a good time. Lily does what Marshall advices and she takes off the ring. Lily soon catches someone’s eye and causes Robin to grow bored and drift away. Lily soon realizes the guy to be gay and apologizes to Robin. However right when the guy was about to wipe something from Lily’s butt Marshall entered the bar and threatened the guy to a fight. The guy soon confesses he is indeed gay and Marshall hugs the guy in delight, however soon the boyfriend of the gay guy sees Marshall hugging his boyfriend and begins a fight against Marshall.
Ted and Barney get invited to a woman security guard’s house party, Barney with the expectation to get some girls he says yes. However the party results to be a boring party and Ted and Barney leave. In the cab ride Barney insists of going to the Liberty Bell to lick it, which Ted refuses. Barney confesses Ted is his best friend and with a soft friendship declaration, Barney tricks Ted on going to the Liberty Bell and licking it. The end of the show, it turns out because of the “Legendary” adventures of Barney, Ted is able to pick up girls. However Ted’s search for his wife is not revealed in this episode, which by the looks of things, I am not sure if the series ever introduces who the children’s mother is. :)
